Merak Creative Activities and Culture Association

Merak Creative Activities and Culture Association was founded by young entrepreneurs coming from food, design, culture & art and creative industries with a mission to attract attention to the importance of entrepreneurship on local and also global development. MERAK aims to support career and business development of new generation creatives by different contents, projects and programs it creates. The potential both social and also economic contribution of creative industries, which have not been recognized yet as a sector in the country, cannot be denied. As a matter of fact, it is Merak’s ambition to guide creative youth into alternative career paths and to encourage them for entrepreneurship.

MERAK has already developed and implemented community and platform building activities for sustainable fashion designers & entrepreneurs (NOTION Collective), acceleration programme for creative business owners (THINK UP CULTURE!) and an entrepreneurship program for food & agriculture startups (FIG), international co-creation workshops for theater artists and entrepreneurs (CO.LAB4) and hackathons for music and technology developers to interact and co-design projects which could turn into new business ideas and models in the art & tech industry (HACK’O MUSIC).

Origin and its community (Ahali) are application and dissemination based solution partners for Merak.
